We hope you found this list at least a little bit interesting. Arts and crafts is a great fundamental activity that can bring families together while exercises the right brain and helping expand the imagination and curiosity of kids.

There are lots of spots that you can visit around Brooklyn and NYC whether you have gone for a vacation or are simply there for a business trip. Because Brooklyn offers so many different things, it can be a bit overwhelming choosing what to see and do especially if you’re there for a short stay. With that, we have highlighted some of the best spots that you can pay a visit to around Brooklyn and NYC. Read on to find out.

• Brooklyn Bridge

When the Brooklyn Bridge was launched in 1883, it was the largest suspension bridge to have existed in the whole world. Although it’s no longer the largest, it is still an iconic landmark in New York that you should definitely visit given that it connects Brooklyn and Manhattan, the two great New York boroughs. The best part is you can choose to see it by walking as it has a pedestrian walkway, ride, drive or simply admire it from afar.

• Brooklyn Museum

Whether you are a fan of artistry or not, art will always be part of our lives, and it can be experienced in different forms. The Brooklyn Museum is definitely a must visit for you. Outside the museum, you will be able to experience the amazing fountain before you go in and enjoy art that is as diverse as you can imagine it to be. You will enjoy both African artworks as well as contemporary art. However, check the days when the museum is open and time before visiting.

• Brooklyn Flea

The Brooklyn Flea market is one of the premier flea markets found in New York City and has always received lots of media coverage from different media houses. It also happened to be one of those places that most tourists flock to when in Brooklyn. The flea market is home to high-quality merchandise which has propelled its popularity. If you are looking for anything vintage or antique as a gift for a loved one or yourself, be sure that you can get at the Brooklyn Flea market.

• The Brooklyn Botanic Garden

If you love nature and adventure, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden shouldn’t miss in your Brooklyn itinerary. In fact, this is the best spot to visit if you want some peace and quiet. The garden has over 100 types of flora spanning more than 52 acres of land. If you are lucky, you can enjoy the FreeLocalDates Sakura Matsuri Festival that takes during spring at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden when lots of the trees are in bloom.

• The Brooklyn Academy of Music

Another must visit when in New York City is the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). The BAM theater is home to different productions that are done by both local and out-of-town companies. The theater’s history is quite interesting given that it was built in 1904 as The Majestic Theater before it was changed into a movie house in the 1940s. The movie house would later shutter in the 1960s forcing the theater to be shut down for nearly two decades before it was reopened in 1987.

Some Other Tips for Sight Seeing

If you are here for the first time or just getting around to seeing this famous borough, you might need some tips for traveling around. While subways are still very prominent in Brooklyn, they don’t necessarily go everywhere like they do in Manhattan. You might consider chartering a bus in NYC that can take you all over the city, including Brooklyn. Furthermore there are sightseeing buses that have Brooklyn routes (although most of these are focused around Manhattan).
